Have you ever run into this successful self-assured kind of person, who knows what they want, and how to get it and get it Fast?

High D people are Doers, sometimes to the point of roughshodding over people who get in their way.  They don’t understand “slow” methodical thinkers. They get tired of waiting.

Bring up an idea, it might be the dumbest thing they ever heard.  No You are not dumb, it just feels that way. Learning how personalities interact, you can tone down this domineering thinker. Using “their language” can propel them to work with you.

My youngest daughter has a lot of D like her father. No reasoning here. They must have choices… Mind you only two.  So think of the two outcomes you would like to have and can live with, and have them choose, from you. You set the parameters.

It’s kind of amazing how this works, my husband and I went to look for a new kitchen table. We found what we wanted in the Sunday paper, and went to go look at it. He grew up during the depression, and doesn’t part with his money easily. He said it was too expensive. The sales person said we could open a charge account and get 15 % off the purchase price.  I told him I didn’t care whether we bought the table or not. That left him free to decide he really liked the table. (I had to be willing to leave the store.) Well, he liked the table so I applied for the credit card, and we got 15% off.

He is averse to using tools to lower prices, yet, this worked out pretty well, so he has taken a few steps in this direction at the Man Store (Home Depot)
